    Tramway Labor Day weekend

Looks like we are heading to the Tram next weekend if anyone is interested.

I picked up the guidebook so I can totally Rampage that place! :)

we are heading to black mtn proper for the weekend. I would be up for a day at the Tram.

my life would be so much easier if I didnt have to get out of bed.

Nice Greg!  I was already thinking about heading out to the Tramway this weekend.  It would be sweet if we meet up because I don't have the guide and I don't know where all the good lines are!

Be at the first Tram up the hill and we can all head up together.

Cars depart at least every half hour with the first car up Monday-Friday at 10am; first car up weekends and holiday periods at 8am Sorry no pets allowed.

Beginning Labor Day Weekend the last car up is 8pm with the last car down at 9:45pm.
Beginning Memorial Day Weekend the last car up is 9pm with the last car down at 10:30pm.

Greg, Are you going to bring gear and food and camp up there Saturday night?  You said that you are planning on climbing at the tram both Saturday and Sunday right?  That way you will only have to buy one day pass...  I'm thinking about doing that, you're just supposed to get an over night camping permit from the Idyllwild ranger station if you camp.  I don't know if I will do all that or not.  Just wondering what you were planning.

That would be a huge pain in the ass. If you end up driving to Idyllwild, you should say "screw it" and climb at Black Mtn. Idyllwild is very far out of the way and would negate the benefits of taking the Tram.

Do any of these appeal to you guys?  There are a few Tram problems in the list.

What?  I'm not driving to Idyllwild.  Why would it be a huge pain in the ass?  All my camping and climbing gear can fit in my Cpad.

Nice pic's link greg. I think I have sent one problem on that list. White Rastafarian!  Did you highlight all the tram problems from this list in your tram guide?

look at this; it looks like there will be a pretty good sized gathering of So. Cal. climbers there this Saturday for a trash pick up.

    Re: Tramway Labor Day weekend

If anyone other than myself is pondering staying the night at the top of the tram; I emailed the tram asking if the ticket is still good to get back down the next day. This is what I got back:

Thank you for your email. The Tram ticket is valid for one trip up and one trip down, whether its on the same day or the next day. Just be sure to have your ticket when you want to ride down, if you don’t have it you will need to buy a ticket down.

I haven't done any research; I'm just assuming that the Idyllwild Ranger Station is in Idyllwild. If that is the case, then it would be a pain in the ass to drive there just to get a permit, and then drive back to the Tram. That's a lot of driving. Camping would be awesome though.

Liz and I would love to join you guys, but with the impending move out of state, life is full of uncertainties right now. I can't make any plans. Kinda sucks.

Climbingsponge, there is a sub-division Idyllwild ranger station at the top of the tram.
